Ph.D. in Law
The Ph.D. in Law at T.S. Mishra Law School, T.S. Mishra University, is a rigorous and
research-intensive doctoral programme aimed at nurturing scholarly inquiry, critical thinking,

Constitutional Law, Criminal Justice, Human Rights, Cyber Law, Environmental Law,
Corporate Law, International Law, and Comparative Jurisprudence. Doctoral candidates
work closely with experienced faculty guides and are provided with access to well-resourced
libraries, research databases, and academic forums.
Through coursework, seminars, publications, and dissertation writing, the Ph.D. programme
prepares scholars for careers in academia, legal research institutions, policy bodies,
legislative consultancy, and judicial services. It is also ideal for those aspiring to shape legal

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. in Law programme at T.S. Mishra Law School must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
Educational Qualification:
- The candidate must have obtained a Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) from a recognized university or institution, with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- A relaxation of 5% marks (i.e., 50%) may be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories as per UGC norms.
Entrance Test:
- Admission shall be through the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) conducted by T.S. Mishra University, followed by a personal interview.
- Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/SLET/SET or hold an M.Phil. degree in Law (as per UGC regulations) may be exempted from the entrance test and directly appear for the interview.
Research Proposal:
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a preliminary research proposal outlining their intended area of research, objectives, and methodology, which will be evaluated during the interview process.
