LL.M. (Criminal and Security Law)

The One-Year LL.M. in Criminal and Security Law at T.S. Mishra Law School is a specialized postgraduate programme aimed at equipping students with advanced knowledge of the criminal justice system, criminology, and national security laws. It is ideal for law graduates, practitioners, and professionals seeking focused expertise in handling complex legal challenges related to crime, investigation, and internal security.

The curriculum explores vital areas such as Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure, Evidence Law, Cyber Crime, Economic Offences, Victimology, Human Rights in Criminal Justice, and National Security Legislations. It blends theoretical depth with practical insights through case studies, legal clinics, courtroom exercises, and dissertation work.

This programme prepares students for impactful careers in criminal litigation, prosecution, judiciary, law enforcement, cyber law practice, human rights organizations, and policymaking bodies. It also serves as a solid base for doctoral research or specialization in forensic and security studies.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have completed a 3-year LL.B. degree or a 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B./BBA LL.B. degree from a recognized university/institution.
  • The qualifying degree must be obtained with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC or other reserved categories, as per university norms).
  • Admission shall be based on merit and/or performance in the entrance examination/interview conducted by the university (if applicable).
  • Final-year law students awaiting results may also apply, subject to submission of proof of eligibility at the time of admission.

Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
