The Department of Medical Laboratory Science is dedicated to advancing healthcare through excellence in laboratory diagnostics, research, and education. Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science
4-years program (including 1 year of compulsory internship (Laboratory rotation /Research dissertation) 40 A candidate seeking admission to the Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) program should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent conducted by Boards/Councils established by State Government/Central Government with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects.
The candidate must possess minimum 40% marks in the qualifying examination. 5% relaxation will be given to reserve category candidates. Also, the candidate should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician
2 years 60 A candidate seeking admission to the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science program should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent conducted by Boards/Councils established by State Government/Central Government with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics (PCB/PCM) and English as subjects.

Prof. (Dr.) Nityanand Upadhyay, M.Sc., Ph.D. MLT, is a distinguished academician and researcher in medical education and paramedical sciences. He has made significant contributions to curriculum development and implementation at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow, particularly for BMLS and MMLS programs. With extensive experience as a paper setter, moderator, examiner, and committee member across reputed universities and institutions in Uttar Pradesh, he has played a key role in advancing academic standards and healthcare education. His research interests include clinical biochemistry, transfusion medicine, forensic investigations, and microbiology, with publications in reputed international journals.

Ms. Anamta Fatama is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department (HOD) of the Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) Department. She holds an M.Sc. degree and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology. She is also a microbiology researcher and academic professional with three years of experience in teaching, laboratory diagnostics, and biomedical research. Her research interests include antimicrobial resistance, clinical microbiology, and innovative therapeutic approaches. She has published research on "Phenotypic and Genotypic Characterization of MRSA among Healthcare Workers," contributing to the understanding of antibiotic-resistant pathogens in healthcare settings. She is also involved in innovation, with a patent for a Nano-herbal drug delivery device designed to enhance drug bioavailability, combining microbiology with advanced biomedical technology. Her work reflects a commitment to improving healthcare through research, education, and scientific innovation.

Ahmad Raza serves as an Assistant Professor & a dedicated medical professional specializing in laboratory sciences and pathology. He holds an MMLS from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University and a BMLT with a Bronze Medal from T.S. Mishra College of Paramedical Sciences, affiliated with Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow. With four years of experience as an Assistant Professor at T.S. Mishra University, he has been actively involved in teaching, research, and academic coordination. His research focuses on anemia diagnosis and platelet function in thrombocytopenia. He is skilled in microbiology, histopathology, cytopathology, biochemistry, hematology, and blood banking, combining strong technical expertise with effective leadership and communication in both academic and clinical settings.

He holds an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from University of Lucknow, is a Gold Medalist in B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) from Integral University, and a Silver Medalist in B.Sc. (Chemistry, Zoology, Botany). He previously worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at King George's Medical University, Lucknow. His research focuses on "Fibrinolytic enzymes and cardiovascular diseases, particularly Nattokinase", in collaboration with MRD Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. He is actively contributing to academic and research activities.
